Thomas Enright Died on Tuesday

Thomas Enright, widely known Madison County farmer died at the Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Tuesday August 8, 1944, after several years of failing health. He was 69 years of age. He had been in the hospital since July 28.

Mr. Enright was a native of Watertown, Wisc. He was born Feb. 14, 1875, the son of Cornelius and Mary Ellen Darcey Enright. The family came to Madison County in 1901 and his home had been here since then.

He was married to Retta Peed on August 9, 1923. They made their home on a farm in Crawford Twp., north of Patterson, where he was engaged in producing apples on a large scale. Mr. Enright showed fruit at the Iowa State Fair for many years. He had been a Director of the Iowa State Horticulture Society since 1929 and also a Director of the Iowa Fruit Growers Association. The Enrights moved to their present home northwest of Winterset May 1943

Mr. and Mrs. Enright were the parents of two children, Mary Eloise, aged 16, and Robert Eugene aged 14. In addition to his wife and children, he leaves a sister, Mrs. Richard Davitt of Norwalk and two brothers, Neil Enright of Los Angeles and James Enright of Rosalind, Alberta, Canada.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. this Thursday from the Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will be made in the Winterset Cemetery.
