Patty De Luna, 60, of Fontanelle, passed away at the Adair County Memorial Hospital on Friday, October 13, 2023 after a long battle with bone, brain and lung cancer.
Patricia Susan (Johnson) De Luna was born on June 18, 1963 to John and Elizabeth “Liz” (Jepsen) Johnson in Ida Grove, Iowa. She graduated from William Jennings Bryan High School in Omaha, NE. She went on to receive an associate degree from Metro Tech Community College in photography. She married Michael De Luna on January 14, 2008 in Blair, Nebraska.
Patty loved to take photographs and was extremely good at capturing the moment. Her step-father, Joe, was instrumental in getting Patty to go back to school to get her degree in Photography. She was crafty and enjoyed creating mosaic’s of John Wayne for her mom. Patty was also a big Legend of Zelda fan and loved to play her video games. She enjoyed canning vegetables and always made a great batch of salsa. She liked to fish and always knew the right spots to get a good catch. Patty was quite the comedian and was always quick with a good joke or snappy comeback.
Patty was a headstrong individual. If she put her mind to a task, you can bet it would be completed. She was a go-getter and was never scared of a challenge. Patty knew that fighting her diagnosis would be an uphill battle, but she always believed she would win. She was incredibly brave throughout the two years she fought. Patty will be incredibly missed by those who knew her.
