Page 4, column 3Ida M. Heacock was born in Madison County, Iowa, August 12, 1879, and passed calmly away, on a sleeper bound for home, June 16, 1905, at 12:45 a.m. about 100 miles from Santa Fe, New Mexico, aged 25 years, 10 months, and 26 days.
She united with the Christian church at the age of 13 years and has ever since been a devoted member.
Ida was respected and loved a faithful standard bearer of the cross, a faithful wife, a loving mother, a follower of Christ and heir of heaven.
She was united in marriage to F.O. Rankin August 8, 1899. To this union were born two children who are two (sic) young to realized their great loss.
She prayed to be spared to her husband and children but could fervently say "Thy will not mine be done." She leaves a devoted husband, a father, two sisters, and a host of friends to mourn her loss; her mother having passed away June 8, 1986, and her sister, Nellie August 3, 1895.

Page 4, column 2The community was shocked to receive the sad intelligence of the death of Mrs. Ida Rankin caused by dropsy of the heart which occurred Friday, June 16 near La Vegas, New Mexico, while on her way home from Santa Fe where she and her husband had gone about three months ago in the hopes of benefiting her health.
The remains arrived on Monday evening and the funeral was preached at the Christian church Tuesday at 10 o'clock a.m., sermon by the pastor, Rev. Burnham, assisted by Rev. Carpenter of the M. E. church and Rev. S.C. Howe of the Friends' church.
The remains were laid to rest in the Young cemetery. Those who attended the funeral from a distance were: J.D. Hildman and wife of Lorimor, Mrs. Hattie Toney, Mrs. G.N Skinner, J.O. Peek and family and Mrs. J.W. Smith of Winterset.

Mrs. G. N. Skinner was called to Truro Monday to attend the funeral or her niece, Mrs. Frank Rankin, who's death occurred while enroute from New Mexico, where she had gone for the benefit of her health.

On last Friday the sad intelligence reached here that Mrs. Ida Rankin had died on the train on her way home from Santa Fe, New Mexico. About ten weeks ago she and her husband went there hoping to regain her health, but it did not seem to improve her health and they started for home but only got about one hundred miles from Santa Fe when she passed away. She was brought here Monday evening and the funeral was preached by Rev. Carpenter on Tuesday. She leaves a husband, two children, father, two sisters, and a host of friends to mourn her loss. She joined the Christian church when a girl and lived a true Christian life.
