Funeral Rites Held From Methodist Church Last Friday
George H. Foster of Truro, who was born in Madison county on Sept. 1, 1856, and most of whose long life was spent here, died at his home in Truro on Wednesday of last week. He was 86 years of age.
Mr. Foster was married to Ada R. DeLong on June 9, 1881. They were the parents of five children, three of whom survive their parents. Two sons, Floyd and Carl, preceded the father in death, Mrs. Foster died in 1923.
He was married a second time on March 8, 1924, to Mrs. Mary Creger, who survives him. He also leaves one son, Clyde Foster of Conesville; two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Williams of Chicago, and Mrs. Maude Shepherd of Canada; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Mary of Lorimor; and one brother, Lafe Foster of Winterset.
Funeral services were held from the Truro Methodist church last Friday, in charge of the Rev. Martin O. McKinzie, assisted by the Rev. W. W. Watson. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.

Truro News Bits
George W. Foster, a resident of this community for many years, died at his home here Wednesday, May 26th. He had been in failing health for several months. Funeral services were held Friday from the Methodist church in charge of Rev. M. O. McKinzie of Murray and Rev. W. Watson. Burial was made in the Peru cemetery.

George Foster, resident of Truro, died at his home there on Wednesday, May 26, at 6:00 a. m.
Funeral services were held at the Truro Methodist church on Friday, May 28, at 2:00 p. m., conducted by Rev. Martin O. McKenzie and Rev. Ward Watson. Music was furnished by Miss Ellie DeLong and Mrs. Ruth Heyl, with Mrs. WIlma Robey as accompanist. Pallbearers were Ray Robinson, Ernie Youmans, George Clifton, Irvin SImmons, Henry Bierma, and Paul Jamison. Interment was made in the Peru cemetery under the direction of the Watts funeral home.
George H. Foster was born Sept. 1, 1856, in Madison county, and spent his early years there. He united with the church in Kansas in his early life. He was united in marriage to Miss Ada R. DeLong on June 9, 1881. Mr. and Mrs. Foster enjoyed a happy home together and to this union were born five children, two sons, Floyd E. and Carl E. Foster, preceding him in death.
His wife died at their home in Des Moines on February 1, 1923. He then was united in marriage to Mrs. Mary Creger on March 8, 1924, His children were constantly at his bedside during his illness.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary C. Foster; one brother, Lafe Foster; and three children, Clyde Foster of Conesville, Iowa, Mrs. Myrtle Williams of Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Maude Shepherd of Canada.

He was born Sept. 1, 1856 in Madison county, Iowa and spent his early years on the old home place.
He was united in marriage to Ada R. DeLong, June 8, 1881. Mr. and Mrs. Foster enjoyed a happy home together and to this union were born five children, Clyde of Conesville, Iowa; Mrs. Myrtle Williams of Chicago and Mrs. Maude Shepherd of Canada. He was preceded in death by a son Floyd in 1918 and by Carl Foster. His wife passed away Feb. 1, 1923 at their home in Des Moines.
He was united in marriage to Mrs. Mary Creger March 8, 1924 who survives as also do five grandchildren and six great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Mary Lorimor and brother Lafe Foster.
He was united with the church in Kansas in his early life. He adhered to the Golden Rule “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” He greatly enjoyed conversing with his friends, many of whom he met on his frequent trip to the business district.
Through all his suffering he was always patient and kind to those who administered to his wants. The children were constantly at his bedside during his last illness.
Services were held from the Truro Methodist church Friday, May 28, 1943 at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. M. O. McKenzie of Murray and Rev. Ward Watson of Truro. Music was furnished by Miss Effie DeLong and Mrs. Ruth Heyl accompanied by Mrs. Wilma Robey.
Interment was made in Peru cemetery by the side of his wife, under the direction of the Watts Funeral Service.
