Obituary

Leanna Bertholf was born Aug. 29, 1897 in Lincoln township, Madison county, Iowa and died Jan. 31, 1908 in Grand River township, being at the time of her death 10 years, 5 months and 2 days of age.

Leanna’s short life was marked with kindness and goodness. She was always loving and obedient to her parents and ever ready to do with willing hand and heart whatever she was bidden. She was the only daughter and sister and we all feel her loss greatly, especially her two younger brothers, as she was a perfect little mother to them. She was loved by all her school mates and neighbors for her kind disposition. She was sick only a few days and her death came unexpected. She leaves to mourn her loss a kind father and mother, three brothers and a host of friends.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Palmer, of Lorimor, from her home on Sunday morning and the remains were interred in the Clark cemetery.
