Services Held For Arthur Perry

Arthur Perry of Truro, 81, died May 23rd at the Madison County Memorial Hospital.

He was born December 9, 1894 at Jackson Junction, Iowa, the son of Stephen and Elizabeth Perry.

He attended school in Waukoma, Iowa, State Teachers College in Cedar Falls and received his Master Degree from Drake University. He had spent all of his life in the teaching field, the last 30 years of this time being spent in the Davenport school system. He was a member of St. John’s Methodist Church of Davenport.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Kale Funeral Home in Truro with Rev. David Wagner of the Methodist church officiating. Burial was in the Hartman Cemetery at Truro.

He is survived by his wife Grace of Truro, a brother Oscar Perry and two sisters, Lola Hoeger and Bert Lawrence, all of Waukoma, Iowa.

Former Truro Teacher Dies

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 25, for Arthur Perry, 81, who died at the Madison County Hospital in Winterset on Sunday, May 23. The Rev. David Wagner of Truro will conduct the 1:30 p.m. rites from the Kale Funeral Home in Truro. Interment will be in Hartman Cemetery, Truro.

Arthur Perry was born December 9, 1894, in Jackson Junction, Iowa, son of Stephen Perry and Elizabeth Kunz Perry. He attended schools in Waukoma, Cedar Falls, and received degrees from Iowa State and an M.A. from Drake University.

He was married to Grace Fulton on August 15, 1926, in Truro.

He taught in country schools and then taught in Truro schools, Clarion and for 30 years in the Davenport school system. He was affiliated with St. Johns Methodist Church at Davenport.

Survivors include his wife, Grace of Truro, one brother, Oscar J. Perry of Waukoma, two sisters, Lola Hoeger of Waukoma and Bert Lawrence of Waukoma and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three sisters and one brother.
