John Queen, the well known farmer and stockman, of Scott township, died Tuesday at his late home, near Ness City, Kansas. The remains arrived this morning and burial will be held at Union Chapel, near the old Queen homestead. We are not informed as to the particulars of his last sickness other than that his last sickness was a protracted one and that his death was not unexpected.

Died at his home one mile south of Ness City, Tuesday morning December 17, 1907, John L. Queen.
The deceased was born in Madison county Iowa, December 16, 1851, was married to Miss Laura F. Ross, February 13, 1879 and to this union was born nine children, eight of whom survive him.
Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. O. M. Keve. The remains were taken to Winterset, Iowa for interment, accompanied by Mrs. Queen, daughter Myrtle and son Wallace.
Mr. Queen moved here with his family nearly three years ago from Winterset, Iowa, and enjoyed the distinction of being one of the Franklin townships most prosperous farmers. The sympathy of the whole community is with the family in this hour of their great loss.

John Queen, as former resident of Scott township and of Winterset, died at his home in Kansas of cancer of the stomach. The body was brought here and buried at Union Chapel near his old home.
Queen came with his family to Madison count in the early years of its settlement, and the family was one of the most prominent of the eastern p[art of the county. His aged mother and his brother, Thomas Queen, live in Truro.
