AGENCY, IA.—Paul O. Roby, 89, of Agency, formerly of Truro, died of pneumonia Thursday at Ottumwa Regional Hospital in Ottumwa. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Congregational United Church of Christ in Truro. Burial will be in Young Cemetery there.

Mr. Roby was born in Truro, where he lived most of his life, before moving to Agency 15 years ago. He retired as owner of Roby Garage in Truro.

Survivors include three sons, Paul of Red Oak, Otis of Sumner and Richard of Aptos, Calif.; three daughters, Betty Williams of Des Moines, Lila Parker of St. Charles and Ann Parker of Indianola; a sister, Grace Mack of Truro; 28 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 8 a.m. today at Kale Funeral Home in Truro.

Paul Roby, 89, Rites Monday

Services for Paul Otis Roby, 89, of Agency, who died Thursday, February 25, 1988 at Ottumwa Regional Hospital, were held Monday, February 29 at the Congregational United Church of Christ, Truro. The Rev. Milton Forbes of Ottumwa and the Rev. Ann Louise Weisenfluh of Truro officiated at the services, with interment in the Young Cemetery, Truro.

Mr. Roby was born October 2, 1898 at Truro, the son of Walter E. Roby and Florence L. Jones Roby. He attended Truro schools.

He married Elvina L. Powers on November 8, 1919 at Newton. She preceded him in death in 1959. He married Mary E. Teninty on December 20, 1973 at Agency.

He spent 39 years in the mechanic business, with most of his life spent in Truro. The past 15 years he has lived in Agency. He was a member of the Truro Congregational Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Roby of Agency; daughters, Betty Williams of Des Moines; Lila Parker and husband, Fred, of St. Charles; Ann Parker and husband, Bob, of Indianola, sons, Paul Roby and wife, Cleo, of Red Oak, Otis Roby and wife, Dolores of Sumner and Richard Roby and wife, Pauline, of Aptos, California, step children, Donald Teninty and wife, Marjorie of Batavia, Garnet Bloomquist and husband, Curt, of Agency and Helen Bloome and husband, Leo, of Batavia, sister, Grace Mack and husband, Ronald of Truro; 28 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elvina Roby in 1959; daughter, Shirley Peppmeier; granddaughter, Susan Peppmeier; parents and three brothers.
