COUNTY NEWS – ST. CHARLES

The community was shocked to hear of the death of Mrs. Frank Crawford last Thursday morning. Mrs. Crawford took ill with the flu sometime last March and was in poor health, but seemed to be convalescing and hopes were entertained for her recovery.

Funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon at the M. E. church conducted by Rev. Dennis, of Murray, a former pastor of the Church of Christ of which she was a member.

Laura M. Black was born in the home in which she passed away July 10, 1875 and was married to Franklin Crawford. To them were born three children, Perry Crawford who is now in the Great Lakes Training School, Jesse Crawford who is still at home, and a small daughter, Dorothy.

Mrs. Crawford will be missed in her community and in her church where she was always ready to lend a helping hand. The bereaved husband and children have the sincere sympathy of the whole community.
