Services for Lamoine J. Day, 69, Greenfield, who died March 9 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, were held Tuesday, March 13, at the McKee Funeral Home with the Rev. Nova Wells officiating. Burial was at the Penn Center cemetery.

Mr. Day, a former Macksburg resident, was born October 5, 1920, the son of Scott and Anna V. Rufenacht Day.

Mr. Day served in the Army from September 1944 to August 1946 and was a retired Santa Fe Railroad employee.

Survivors include his daughter Rita Johnson of Brownwood, Texas; two grandsons, Richard and Michael Stanley of Brownwood, Texas; sisters, Myrtle Herrick of Topeka, Kan., and Jolene Clason of Phoenix, Ariz.; and brother, Scott Day, Jr. of Earlham.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant sons and his wife.

Lamoine J. Day, son of Scott and Anna V. Rufenacht Day, was born October 5, 1920 in La Junta, Colorado. He passed away March 9, 1990 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Lamoine served in the U.S. Army from September 1944 to August 1946. He was a retired Santa Fe Railroad employee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant sons and wife.

Survivors include his daughter Rita Johnson of Brownwood, Texas; two grandsons, Richard and Michael Stanley of Brownwood, Texas; two sisters, Myrtle Herrick of Topeka, Kansas and Jolena Clason of Phoenix, Arizona, and one brother, Scott Day, Jr. of Earlham, Iowa.

Lamoine was loved by his nieces and nephew and was respected by all who knew him.

Reverend Nova Wells officiated at the funeral service on March 13, 1990 at the McKee Funeral Home, Dexter, Iowa. Pallbearers were Scott Day III, Jack Day, Morgan Day, Richard Stanley, Michael Stanley and Fred Day. Interment was in Penn Center Cemetery, rural Earlham, Iowa.
