Death of H. F. Cunningham

H. F. Cunningham, who owned and operated a store in Webster for many years, died Saturday night, December 17, in Ogden. Mr. Cunningham, who was 78 years of age, had retired in seemingly good health, but an attack of heart trouble caused his death. The body was brought to Madison county and Rev. A. R. Weed conducted the funeral services at the Webster church, Tuesday afternoon, at 2 o’clock. Burial was made in the Wight cemetery.

Mr. Cunningham had been making his home in Moline, Kansas, for the last several years. However, he moved this spring to Ogden. The deceased is survived by three daughters: Mrs. Maude Kelsey, of Van Meter; Mrs. Clara Wilson, of Moline, Kansas, and Mrs. Bertha Conn, of Minburn.

H. F. Cunningham died at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Opal Nystrom, in Ogden. Mr. Cunningham was born near Kirkville, Missouri, September 14, 1851, and died December 17, 1927, at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 3 days. He came to Iowa in early childhood with his parents.

He was married to Miss Sarah E. Harrison October 11, 1877. To this union were born five daughters and one son, Mrs. Maude Kelsy, Van Meter; Mrs. Clara Wilson, Moline, Kansas; Mrs. Bertha Conn, Minburn; Mrs. Jennie Harrison, Mrs. Grace Chaffer and Johnnie, the latter three having departed from this life. The mother died September 18, 1917. He again married Mrs. Clara Price June 9, 1919. She died April 18, 1926.

He became a member of the Christian church in early life, remaining faithful to the end. He leaves to mourn his loss, 3 daughters, 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren 4 half-brothers, Charley and Smith, of California; Warren and Will Cunningham, of Des Moines, and many other relatives and friends.
