IDORA SIMMONS OGLESBEE

Idora Nettie Simmons, daughter of Alfred and Mary Simmons, was born in Madison county, Nov. 19, 1875 and departed this life July 24, 1925 at her home east of Peru, having spent her entire life of 49 years, 8 months and 5 days in Madison county.

She was converted to Christ in early life and became a member of the Peru M. E. church. She was married to Vernie Oglesbee, April 16, 1902. To them were born four children: Elza, Ivy, Flavy and Paul. All are now living at the parental home. Besides the husband and children, there are also four brothers and one sister left to mourn their loss: Joshua Simmons of Winterset, Ora of Peru, Edwin of Duron, Kans., Edmond of Prescott, Kansas and Mrs. Ella Smith of Winfield, Kans. Mrs. Oglesbee was a Christian, a devoted mother and a kind neighbor, well respected by all who knew her. Many friends join in expressing their sympathy for the bereaved relatives.

Funeral services were held at the Peru M. E. church Saturday afternoon. The burial took place in the Peru cemetery.
