Truro

The funeral of Mrs. Lee Creger of Des Moines was held at the Christian church Tuesday at 11 o’clock, conducted by Rev. D. W. Thompson of Lamoni, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Young cemetery.

CREGER.

Mrs. Adella Smith Creger was born Dec. 9. 1853, and died at her home at 1219 Center street, Des Moines, Iowa, Dec. 29, 1911 at the age of 58 years and 20 days. Mrs. Creger had been affected with heart trouble for several months, but was not considered very ill until a few days before her death. She was conscious to the last, and realized that her time was fast drawing to a close, and expressed herself as being satisfied with God’s will to have her move on and occupy her mansion beyond.

Funeral services were held at Truro church, Jan. 1st, 1912, interment at the Truro cemetery. Sermon by Rev. D. W. Thompson. Text, John 14: 1—3.

Dr. and Mrs. G. J. De Bey, who left for Des Moines last week Wednesday in response to a message announcing the critical illness of the latter’s mother, arrived there the day before Mrs. Creger died. The funeral was held on New Year’s day at Truro, Iowa.

TRURO

Mrs. Della Smith Creger, was born at Cahanga Falls, Ohio, December 9, 1853, and died at her home at 1219 Center street, Des Moines, Iowa, December 29, 1911, at the age of 58 years and 20 days. Della Smith moved with her parents when but two years old to Rockford, Ill., and when in her fifteenth year with her family moved to Iowa In Warren county.

She was married to A. L. Creger, June 15 1872, at her father’s home, by the Rev. John H. Creger of Peru, Iowa. To this union were born four children, Reuben of Truro, Edwin of North Dakota, Pearl of Des Moines and Mrs. Nina Debey of Orange City. All of whom with their father are left to mourn. Besides her own family she leaves four brothers and three sisters, also many friends who sympathize with them in their deep sorrow.

Mrs Creger was converted while a child, and united with the Christian church in Warren county, and remained faithful to the last.

The funeral services were held from the Christian church in Truro, Tuesday at 10:30 a. m., conducted by the Rev. D. W. Thompson of Moravia, and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery east of town.
