Death of Mrs. Harvey Hindman

Mrs. Harvey Hindman died at Colfax, Iowa, the first of the week after an illness of one week. The body was brought here on Wednesday and funeral services conducted by Rev. O. M. Yagy of Des Moines were held from the Maple Grove church on Wednesday afternoon.

Mrs. Hindman has not enjoyed good health for the past year or so, and last winter underwent two operations for some ailment of the digestive organs. Since that time she has been much better and was to all appearances, in the best of health when she left home on Monday of last week. The day following, she was taken very ill and another operation was undertaken but disclosed that her ailment was beyond the power of human aid.

Mrs. Hindman whose maiden name was Hattie McKinney, was 32 years old and the husband and three children are bereft through her death.

Miss Hattie Kinney was born in Polk county, Iowa, June 18, 1879 and died at Colfax, Iowa, July 30, 1911, aged 32 years, 1 month and 12 days. She was married to Harvey Hindman, Sept. 16, 1896. To this union was born 5 children, three of whom still survive.

She was converted and joined the Evangelical church at the age of 17, of which she was a faithful member until death. She left her testimony with her husband and mother, who were with her at the time of her death that she was ready to meet her Savior when He came.

She had been ailing for some time, having undergone two operations for trouble of the digestive organs at Mercy hospital last spring. She recovered from them and seemed to be in good health until about a week before her death, when she had another attack and was taken to Colfax, where she died. She with her husband and three children lived at Lorimor, Iowa.

The funeral services were held at Maple Grove church, 7 miles west of Winterset, and she was laid to rest in the Wight cemetery by the side of her two babies.
