Samuel Bohanan died at the home of his sister, Mrs. M. E. Bennett, in this city last Saturday at 4 o’clock p.m. with inflammation of the stomach. When he first took sick, some two weeks ago, he was working for Wm. McLees, in Lincoln township, but was soon able to be around. A few days before he died he came to town and went to Mrs. Sarah Allery’s for his washing, and while there took down again. In a day or so he was removed to Mr. Bennett’s, where for the last 20 years he had made his home, and received very kind treatment. After his removal he took rapidly worse and died as stated above.

The funeral was held at the house and the remains taken to Penn Center and buried beside his brother, D. D., who also died at the home of Mr. Bennett some 19 years ago. Deceased was born in Peoria county, Illinois, in 1853. He was never married.
