GEORGE S. WEEKS

George Spencer Weeks, son of George and Elmira Weeks, was born July 14, 1869 and departed this life at the home of his brother, Elbert Weeks in Webster township, Madison County, Iowa, Dec. 14, 1921, aged 52 years and 5 months.

He leaves an aged father, four brothers, five sisters and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn their loss. Three brothers, one sister and the mother preceded him in death.

The brothers and sisters present at the funeral were: Elbert Weeks, Mrs. Clara Smith, Mrs. Minnie Grabell and Mrs. Myra Pope, all of Madison county. Those not permitted to attend were: Mrs. Mary Dimock, Charles Weeks and Weston Weeks, all of Colorado; Frank Weeks of Fullerton, Nebr.; Mrs. Lydia Pope of Wisconsin.

In early life the deceased gave his heart to God and united with the Evangelical church. In later life, being deprived of the church of his choice, he became a regular attendant of the Christian church at Leon, Iowa, near his home. In his declining days, the dear old book of God was the book he studied most and was familiar with its counsel, and talked freely of its great truths, with those who admistered the needed care in his last hours.

Funeral services were conducted from the Fellowships church, interment taking place in the Hamblin cemetery. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Hulbert, M. E. pastor of Macksburg.
