Dolores (Beaman) Sinn, 75, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning July 2, 2007, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Dolores was born May 24, 1932 in Madison county, Iowa, the daughter of Leonard and Lura (Fife) Beaman. She graduated from St. Charles High School and from the Iowa School of Beauty as a hair stylist. Dolores married Merlyn George Sinn, December 30, 1950 at St. Charles, Iowa and they made their home in Martensdale. She worked in her home as a hair stylist, later working at Martensdale-St. Mary's Community School, People's Bank and retiring from Des Moines University. She was known for her beautiful handmade quilts and her musical talent having studied as a young lady at Simpson College.

Dolores is survived by her mother of Indianola, Iowa, four daughters, Carla Wingfield of Morton, Illinois, Connie Sinn of Woodward, Iowa, Carmin Miller and husband, Craig of Remsen, Iowa and Karen Peterson of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Also surviving are four grandsons, two granddaughters, one great-granddaughter and twin brother, Dale Beaman and wife Kathy of St. Charles, Iowa

She was preceded in death by her husband, her father and her sister, Barbara Beaman.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 6 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Martensdale with burial following at St. Charles cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 5 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. to greet friends.
