Mrs. William Givan

Carrie Belle Whitworth, daughter of Thomas and Hulda Whitworth, was born near Macksburg, December 15, 1872 and departed this life September 17, 1930, at the age of 57 years, 9 months and 2 days. She was converted at an early age and remained a true Christian until the end.

On October 16, 1888, she was united in marriage to William Givan. To this union were born four children; three daughters, Onie, who died in infancy; Mrs. Fred Eyerly and Mrs. Elmer Roberts, both of Winterset, and one son, Roscoe who is still at home. She was a patient sufferer for many years with an affliction which seemed incurable. But in spite of this, she remained constant and devoted to her family and to her faith.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, three children, eight grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. James Thomas of Macksburg.
