MRS. FLORENCE ROBY DIES AT 83 YEARS

Mrs. Florence L. Roby died at her home in Truro Saturday, Dec. 18, at the age of 83 years.

Mrs. Roby was a member of a well known family in the Truro community. She was born July 11, 1871 in Clarke county, a daughter of Benton and Laura (Foreman) Jones.

She is survived by four children, Russell and Paul Roby, Mrs. Grace Mack and Alvin Roby; six sisters, Mrs. M. Hawk, Mrs. Susie Gracy, Mrs. Hester Musselman, Mrs. Grace Gracy, Hazel Jones, Mrs. Ethel Henthorn; and a brother, Niles Jones.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Truro Christian church conducted by the Rev. Walter Schilling. Burial was made at the Young cemetery near Truro.

Obituary

Florence Lucinda Roby

Florence Lucinda Roby, daughter of Benton and Laura Jones, was born in Clarke county, Iowa, July 11, 1871, and spent her entire life in and around Truro.

She was united in marriage to Walter E. Roby on August 14, 1890. To them were born Russell and Paul of Truro, Alvin of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Grace Mack of Truro, and Franklin who died in 1901. Besides the children the survivors are: ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Malvern Hawk of Osceola, Mrs. Susie Gracey and Mrs. Hester Musselman of Truro, Mrs. Grace Gracey of Indianola, Hazel Jones of Des Moines, Ethel Henthorne of Hollywood, Calif., and one brother, Niles Jones of Stratford, Iowa.

Mrs. Roby was received into the membership of the Truro Christian church early in her married life. She was a very active worker in this church until sickness intervened. Her husband died in 1925.

Funeral services were conducted at the Truro Congregational Christian church by the minister, Rev. Walter E. Schilling on Monday afternoon, Dec. 20.
