DEATH OF W. F. LEACH

W. F. Leach, well-known resident of Douglas township died at his home Tuesday afternoon, May 9th, after a short illness with pneumonia. He had been suffering with neuritis and complications all winter, but his condition was not thought to be serious. He became ill about a week ago, with pneumonia and continued to grow worse.

Mr. Leach who was 59 years of age, was a son of the late Hiram Leach. He was born in Story county August 8, 1873. He came to Madison county in 1883 and has always made this community his home. His wife, who was the former, Miss Lurrie McDonald, died in December 1930.

Mr. Leach is survived by his children; one son, Ray Leach of Winterset, and eleven daughters: Mrs. Ross McNichols, Mrs. Lee Cox, Mrs. Ed Carey, Mrs. Ralph Alexander, and Miss Georgia of Winterset and Mesdames Jim Bussanmus of Indianola, David Fidler and Thomas McManus of Des Moines, Pearl Harpole of Ogden, Utah, Howard Cummings and Lawrence Cummings of St. Charles. He also leaves a brother, Ed of Kansas City, Kansas and a sister, Ida of Los Angeles, California.

Rev. W. C. Porter will conduct the funeral services which will be held at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home Friday morning, May 12th at 10 o'clock.
