Henry Erle "Bud" Hill

Henry Erle Hill, son of Wilbur and Sadie Hill, was born near Patterson, Madison county, Iowa, August 22, 1915 and passed away at Carthage, Missouri, June 12th, 1933 at the age of 17 years, 9 months and 21 days.

"Bud", as he was known to all his friends, has made his home with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Hill, since he was less than a year old, so that Winterset has been his home almost all his life. He left Winterset a few days ago to work at the home of some acquaintances of the family in Southern Missouri. Here he met with the accident which eventually cost him his life. All that friends could do to save his life, and to make him comfortable was done, but the end came, and with it sorrow to all who knew him, for "Bud" was a likable boy and to know him was to be his friend.

For many years Erle was a member and a faithful attendant of Sunday school at the Church of Christ.

He leaves to mourn his going, his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Harvey Davis of Winterset and Julia Hill at home, one brother at home, Wilbur Dale, also his grandparents and many friends.
