SERVICES THURSDAY FOR ROSS E. MYERS

Ross E. Myers, a well known Truro business man, died Monday, April 24, at his home in Truro. He was 57 years of age.

Mr. Myers was born in Warren county Nov. 1, 1909, a son of Leo A. and May Shutt Myers. His life was spent in the Truro community. He was chief of the voluntary fire department there.

He was married in Des Moines July 6, 1948 to Blanch Hart, who survives him. He also leaves his mother, Mrs. May Myers of Truro; a brother, Gerald Myers of Truro; and three sisters, Mrs. Isabelle DeBoer of Owasso, Okla., Mrs. Laura Goodrich of Lucas and Mrs. Evelyn Fitzgerald of Truro.

Funeral services were held Thursday from the Kale Funeral Home in Truro, conducted by the Rev. James Nicholson. Burial was made in the Hartman cemetery there.

Roy Elverie Myers

Roy Elverie Myers, son of Leo A. and May Shutt Myers, was born in Warren county on November 1, 1909. He passed away from this life suddenly, April 24, 1967 at the age of 57 years, 5 months, 23 days, at his home in Truro, Iowa.

He received his education in the Warren and Madison county schools.

He was married to Blanche Hart June 6, 1948 at the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

As a young man Roy worked on road construction, later he worked with both Paul Roby and L. R. Smith as a mechanic. During his life he did custom threshing, clover hulling and bailing in Madison, Clarke and Warren counties. He also worked at the Booster Station from 1934 to 1937. In 1941 Roy and his brother, Gerald opened the Myers Bros. Garage in Truro, which they were still operating.

In 1951 Roy was baptized by Rev. Oren Hall of St. Charles, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his father and two nephews. He is survived by his wife, Blanche of Truro, Iowa; his mother, May Myers of Truro, one brother, Gerald of Truro, and three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Isabelle) DeBoer of Owasso, Oklahoma; Mrs. Ross (Laura) Goodrich of Lucas, Iowa; Mrs. Orville (Evelyn) Fitzgerald, nineteen nieces and nephews, many other relatives, and a host of friends.

Roy was widely known and beloved by all who knew him.

As said in Psalms 127.2, “For so he giveth his beloved sleep.”
