MORTUARY

Nettie Blanche McBride, daughter of Frank and Anna Bowlsby McBride was born near Worthington in Madison township, Madison county, Iowa, on December 28, 1889.

She attended the Worthington school and was graduated from the Earlham high school with the class of 1907. Her entire life has been lived in the Earlham and Worthington communities. She worked for two years in Earlham and was compelled to give up her work by ill health. Blanche was not for many years of rugged strength, but has been a great sufferer. In spite of this not a word of complaint was spoken, but always words of cheer and hopefulness.

She united with the Methodist church at Worthington when a girl, and has always lived a conscientious Christian life. Hers was a life of serene beauty that led all who knew her to be her friends. No word of ill ever passed her lips regarding anyone. She was ambitious, but ill-health denied her the privilege of doing as she would like to have done.

She passed away on Thursday morning, January 14, 1932, at the age of 42 years, 17 days, leaving to sorrow at her going, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. McBride, three brothers, Charles W. of Earlham, Jesse E. and Isaac B. of Holtville, California, and one sister, Mrs. A. P. Keast, of Winterset, and a large number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Worthington church on Saturday afternoon, January 16th, conducted by her pastor, the Rev. A. R. Weed. Burial was in the Worthington cemetery.
