MRS. MARY MILLER DIES AT 95 YEARS

Truro Woman Had Lived at Nursing Home Here for Seven Years

Mrs. Mary L. Miller of Truro died last Thursday, July 19 at a Winterset nursing home, where she had lived the last seven years.

Mrs. Miller was 95 years of age, and had lived most of her life in Madison county.

She was the former Mary Luella Tharpe, born in Johnson county Jan. 30, 1867. She was married in 1888 to Percival Miller. His death occurred in 1952. Their two sons, Atha and Will Miller, preceded them in death.

She leaves one grandchild; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Tharpe of Iowa City and Fred Tharpe of Long Beach, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Rowena Hardin of Long Beach.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Kale Funeral home in Truro, conducted by the Rev. Miller Marshall. Burial was made in Ebenezer cemetery.

Coordinator's note: Numerous vital records show her to go by "Ella" and her parent's gravestone show her maiden name to be "Tharp".
