Mrs. Edward H. Handley, a life-long resident of the Macksburg and Lorimor communiteies, died last Thursday at her home at Lorimor. She was 64 years of age.

Mrs. Handley was born April 5, 1878, near Macksburg. She was the former Daisy Dean Shackelford, daughter of Larkin and Mary Ann Shackelford.

On March 4, 1897, she was married to Chester H. Smith, who died Feb. 4, 1906, leaving her with two children. On Sept. 18, 1907, she was married to Edward H. Handley, who survives her.

In addition to her husband, she leaves two children, Mrs. Arvetta Capesius of Des Moines, and Gailen Smith of Winterset; five brothers and sisters, James Shackelford, of Winfield, Kan., Owen Shackelford of Crane, Tex., Mrs. Mae Klingensmith of Lorimor; Ella Shackelford of Topeka, Kan., and Mrs. Alvah West of Long Beach, Cal. She also leaves five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held last Saturday from the Watts funeral home in Lorimor, with the Rev. L. F. Davis of Winterset in charge. Burial was made in the Clarke cemetery.
