MORTUARY

Clara May Cummins

Clara May Cummins, daughter of Tom and Elizabeth Cummins was born in Madison county, June 20, 1876, and passed away at her home in Madison county, October 29th, 1932, aged 56 years 4 months and 9 days. She was united in marriage to Franklin Clark, February 22, 1899. To this union four children were born Eva and Otis at home, George and Dorothy having passed away in early childhood.

She was taken sick on Monday, October 23 with pneumonia. Every possible physical aid was given but her constitution was to frail to win against such a strong force. She united with the Ord Christian church in early girlhood and always took an active part in the life of the church as long as her health permitted. She was a loving mother, no one can fill her place. She was always thoughtful and knew just what to do in every situation. She never worried over trifles. Always the same even temperament always helping, keeping this thought in mind, that things would come out alright in the end.

Those who mourn her going are the husband, Franklin Clark, a daughter Eva, a son Otis and three brothers, Charles Cummins and E. W. Cummins of Winterset, Frank Cummins of Peru and one sister, Mrs. Dean Glenn of Winterset and a host of relatives and friends.
