STANLEY SEIDLER Called By Death

Stanley S. Seidler, Winterset grocer, died at his home on west Filmore stret, Monday morning, October 28th, at the age of 40 years. Mr. Seidler's health began to fail about two years ago, and he made frequent trips to Ohio, and later to Omaha, for medical treatment, but only temporary relief could be given him. He remained at his store on the west side of the square, however, as long as his health would permit, and it has only been for the past two months, that he was confined to his home.

Mr. Seidler was a son of F. B. and Charlena Seidler and was born January 27, 1895, in Chicago, Illinois. He came to Winterset, with his parents, when he was nine years of age, and since then this place has been his home. Following the completion of his school work, he went into the grocery business with his father, and in August 1922, he took complete charge of the business.

His marriage to Miss Edna Lane of Des Moines, was solemnized, September 12, 1922. Mr. Seidler has taken an active interest in the affairs of the community, was a member of the Knights of Pythias and Masonic lodges. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian church in Winterset, and has been a trustee and an elder of the church for several years.

He is survived by his wife and their two children, Richard, three and a half years of age, and Esther two and a half years old. He also leaves his father, F. B. Seidler of Winterset, two sisters and a brother, Mrs. E. E. Brynes of Marshalltown, Miss Myrtle Seidler of Washington, D.C. and Walter Seidler of San Diego, California. His mother died March 4, 1933.

The Rev. R. C. Cully, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, conducted his funeral services at the church, Wednesday afternon, October 30th, at 2 o'clock, and the members of the Masonic lodge had charge of the burial service in the Winterset cemetery. Six of the elders of the church served as pall bearers: Judge W. S. Cooper, Dr. E. F. Powell, Elton Woody, M. R. Hassell, F. P. Hartsook, and G. L. Montross.
