Edith Youmans, Winterset

Services for Edith Youmans, 92, Winterset, died March 2 at the Bethesda Care Center where she resided, were held Monday, March 4 at the Christian Church in Truro with the Rev. Chet Waterman officiating. Burial was at the Peru Cemetery.

She was born in Madison County July 15, 1892, the daughter of Henry and Tillie Neidt Frank. She married Ernest Youmans on Feb. 22, 1911.

She belonged to the Thursday Girls in Truro and the Oak Run Community Circle.

Survivors include daughters, Thelma Armstrong of Truro, Dorothy Brooks of St. Charles and Geraldine Johnson of Bentonville, Ark.; a son, Gene of Truro; and 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, sister, brother, a half-brother and half-sister.

Edith Youmans Services Mon.

Edith Gertrude Youmans, 92, Truro, died at the Bethesda Care Center in Winterset Saturday, March 2. Services were held Monday, March 4 from the Christian Church in Truro with the Rev. Chet Waterman of St. Charles officiating at the 2:30 p.m. rites. Interment was in the Peru Cemetery.

Edith Gertrude Youmans was born July 15, 1892 in Madison County, Iowa, daughter of Henry Frank and Tillie Niedt Frank. She attended schools in Walnut Township, Madison County and on February 22, 1911 was married to Ernest Youmans in Madison County. Five children were born to this union.

She was a housewife and was a member of the Thursday Girls and Oak Run Community Circle. She was affiliated with the Truro Christian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Thelma Armstrong and husband, Marvin, of Truro; daughter, Dorothy Brooks and husband, Dean of St. Charles; daughter, Geraldine Johnson and husband, Bob of Bentonville, Arkansas; son, Gene Youmans and wife, Pauline of Truro; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ernest; daughter, Colleen Hall; one brother; one sister; a half-brother and half-sister.
