FRANCES BEK, WINTERSET

Frances L. Bek, 83, of Winterset, died of cancer on Jan. 14, 1997 at her residence. Funeral services were Jan. 17 at the Winterset Foursquare Church. The Rev. Bob Epperson officiated the services and burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born in Harrison County on Jan. 13, 1914 to George E. and Inez H. (Porter) Hewitt. She married Gerald C. Bek on July 17, 1938 in Mondamin. She was a homemaker and a resident of Madison County for the past 43 years. She was a member of the Winterset Foursquare Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son-in-law, and one daughter.

Surviving relatives include four daughters, Jerl and husband John, Denise Kavanaugh, and Vanna Shaw and husband Steve, all of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Karen Stalheim and husband Roger of Winterset; two sisters, Ada Clark of LeMars, and Geneva Todd of Smiley, Texas; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
