Funeral services for William H. Tilton, 89, will he held this Thursday afternoon at 2 o' clock from the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.

Mr. Tilton died Monday July 17 at Madison Manor Nursing home in Winterset.

A son of Thomas W. and Phoebe Ellen McClain Tilton, he was born in Madison county on March 23, 1878. He was married to Edith Hamilton on June 25, 1904. Mr. Tilton farmed near Norwalk for about 25 years, the remainder of his life being spent in this county where he farmed and was a mason and carpenter. He worked on bridge construction in this county for about 15 years.

Mr. Tilton was a member of the Norwalk Masonic Lodge, and had received a lifetime membership.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Edwards of Lorimor; a brother, Homer Tilton of Winterset and a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Perkins of Indianola.

He was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers and four sisters.

Officiating at the service this Thursday will be the Rev. Everett K. Burham, pastor of First Methodist church. Burial will be in Winterset cemetery.
