WILLIAM "BILL" SEE

William Woodrow See, 86, of Peru, died of pneumonia Jan. 27, 2003 at Winterset Care Center South.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2 at the Peru United Methodist Church with Pastor Dennis Shepherd officiating. There will be no visitation.

Bill See was born Dec. 27, 1916 in Madison County to Homer and Elsie (Landis) See. He was a graduate of Peru High School. On July 27, 1938, he married Doris Emerson in St. Charles. A lifetime resident of Madison County and retired dairy farmer, Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Winterset (50 years) and Peru United Methodist Church. He also was a former Madison County Fair Board member.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; and two sisters, Bessie Beeler and Freida Burns.

He is survived by his wife, Doris, of Peru; a son, Jim See of Peru; two daughters, Joanne Howell of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Sharon Young of Waukee; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset.
