Margaret L. Welch, 86, of Winterset died Aug. 10, 2000 of pancreatic cancer at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines.

Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at Winterset Cemetery with the Rev. John Shaw officiating. Vistation was held Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. and Monday at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.

Margaret Welch was born July 27, 1914 in Winterset to George and Edith (Kipp) Haymond. She married Hugh Welch on July 18, 1938 in Winterset. She was a waitress for Club Cafe in Winterset for many years and a long-time employee at Collins Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hugh, three brothers, Eugene Haymond, Woodrow Haymond and Lloyd Haymond and a sister, Helen Egy.

She is survived by a sister, Mary Egy, of San Francisco, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.
