Cleve Wilmar "Curly" Kirkland of Macksburg died Sunday, April 26, 1981, at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was 66 years old.
Born April 2, 1915, in Macksburg, he was the son of George H. Kirkland and Myrtle Edington.
On May 2, 1942, he married Phyllis Thompson in Albany, Missouri.
Mr. Kirkland lived most of his life in the Macksburg area where he was a farmer, retiring in 1977. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge No. 406.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife; daughter, Mrs. Patricia Reynolds of Bettendorf;
two brothers, Harlan Kirkland of Creston and Ralph Kirkland of Macksburg; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Young of Earlham and Mrs. Grace Younkin of San Diego, Calif.; and three grandchildren.Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, at United Methodist Church of Macksburg with Rev. Robert Wood officiating.
Burial was at Moon Cemetery in Macksburg.
