Thelma Thomas, 82, of Afton, formerly of Macksburg died March 28, 1992 at Greater Community Hospital, Creston.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Macksburg United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ed VanHolland, pastor of the Macksburg and Hebron United Methodist Churches will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Moon Cemetery, Macksburg. There is open visitation after noon today at the Stroud-Lindsay Golden Rule Funeral Home in Afton.

Mrs. Thomas was born Oct. 15, 1909 in Kimballton to Cris and Anna (Jorgensen) Jorgensen. She married Dale Thomas and he died on March 28, 1992. She lived most of her life in the Macksburg community until moving to Afton in 1971. She was a homemaker and a member of the Macksburg United Methodist Church and Hawthorne Rebekah Lodge #350 in Macksburg.

Survivors include a son, Robert D.(wife Jane) Thomas of Mount Ayr; two grandchildren; a sister, Leona Young of Dayton, Ohio; and a brother, Ralph (wife Lois) Jorgensen and a sister-in-law, Helen Jorgensen of Ankeny.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
