May 31, 1995Bessie Irene Clopton, 82, of Winterset, died of a kidney ailment May 28, 1995 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services will be June 1 at 10:30 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. The Rev. Harold Koughn will officiate the services and burial will be at the Winterset Cemetery. Visitation will be today, Wednesday, from noon until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born in Booneville on July 31, 1912 to John and Emma (Davis) Brayman. She married Gaymond J. Clopton on July 31, 1931 in Winterset. She was a lifetime resident and a homemaker. She was a member of the Worthington United Methodist Church in Madison County.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving relatives include her husband; one daughter, Donna Jones of Des Moines, two grandsons; and one great grandson.
