Death of Richard Dabney

Richard Dabney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Dabney, of Douglas township, who has been in poor health for the past ten years, died in Colorado Springs last Saturday, January 12th at the age of 32 years. Richard, as he was familiarly known grew to manhood in this county. At the beginning of the World war he enlisted and was assigned to a motor transport division, stationed most of the time at Fort Blis, Texas. He became ill while he was in service and had been a constant sufferer since that time.

Mr. Dabney was married to Larene Streitler September 19, 1925, in Prescott, Arizona. Last March, he and Mrs. Dabney moved to Colorado Springs, where they had hoped the climate would make him more comfortable.

The deceased was a member of the Winterset Masonic lodge and of Green-Rogers post of the American Legion. He united with the West Star church when he was young.

He leaves besides his wife, his mother and father, two brothers, and six sisters and many other relatives and friends.

Rev. A. R. Weed, assisted by the Rev. A. P. Keast, conducted the funeral services in the Winterset Methodist church, Tuesday afternoon, January 15th, and the interment was in the Winterset cemetery. The members of the Masonic lodge and Green-Rogers Post assisted with the services.
