Funeral services for Edna L. Oglesbee, 87, were Tues., July 28, 1992 at United Methodist Church, Peru with the Rev. Tapiwa Mucherera officiating. Mrs. Oglesbee died at Madison County Memorial Hospital on July 23.
She was born Dec. 20, 1904 in Adams County to Norman and Grace Boller. She graduated from Truro High School in 1924 and married Elza L. Oglesbee on March 4, 1930. They resided in Peru until 1975 when they moved to Winterset. She was a teacher in Madison County for many years and was a member of the Peru Garden Club and First United Methodist Church, Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Ralph.
Surviving relatives are two nieces, Glenda Boyd and Paula Furstenburg, both of Medford, Or., and two nephews, Larry Boller, Omaha, Ne and Jon Boller, Shawnee, Ks.
She was buried at Peru Cemetery.

Edna LaVerne Oglesbee, daughter of Norman and Grace Hargan Boller was born December 20, 1904, in Nodaway Township of Adams County, and died July 23, 1992, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. She was 87.
In 1913, Mrs. Oglesbee’s family came to Madison County where they made their home. Mrs. Oglesbee attended the Madison County South Ward Schools and graduated from the Truro High School in 1924. Following her graduation, Mrs. Oglesbee began her teaching career in Lee County of the same year. After many years in Lee County she began teaching in the Madison County Schools and retired from the South Ward in 1975.
She married Elza Oglesbee March 4, 1930, at the Peru United Methodist Church parsonage. After their marriage they spent many years in Peru and moved to Winterset in 1975 where they were just “retired.”
Mrs. Oglesbee was a member of the Peru Garden Club and always a member of the local state National Education Association and member of First United Methodist Church in Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elza, in 1988, her parents and her brother Ralph.
Surviving Edna are her nieces, Glenda Boyd, Paula Fuerstenberg and her husband, Michael, all of Medford, Ore.; nephews, Larry and his wife, Judy, of Kearney, Neb. and Jon and his wife, Peggy, of Shawnee, Kan. and their families and cousins in the United States and Canada.
Services for Mrs. Oglesbee were 1 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Peru with the Rev. Tapiwa Mucherera officiating. Organist, Doris Johnson, performed the hymns Beyond the Sunset and How Great Thou Art. Casket Bearers were Elmer Miller, Lee Parker, Marret Edwards, Larry Beeler, Everett Agan and Robert Spencer. Interment was in the Peru Cemetery with arrangements by Kale Funeral Homes in Osceola and Truro.
