Death of Lloyd H. Churchill

Lloyd H. Churchill, a former county agent of Madison county, died Tuesday, August 13th, at his home in Bedford. Mr. Churchill was stricken with an infection of the spine over a year ago, while he was county agent of Marion county, at Knoxville. He received treatment at the hospitals in Iowa City and at Rochester, but nothing could be done to improve his condition. He had suffered intensely for a number of months and had gradually grown weaker.

Mr. Churchill was raised at Bedford and was a graduate of the Iowa State college at Ames, where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Following his graduation he came to Winterset in 1922, where he served as Farm Bureau agent for five years.

Mrs. Churchill was formerly Miss Anne Dowell, and she was the home economics instructor in the Winterset high school for four years. She and Mr. Churchill were married in May, 1924, and she continued to teach until they moved to Knoxville, two years ago. Besides Mrs. Churchill and his parents and brothers and sisters, the deceased leaves a young son, Lloyd Henry.

Funeral services are being held at the W. H. Churchill home in Bedford, this afternoon (Thursday) at 2 o'clock.
