VIRGIL "CLEM' CLEMENTS

Virgil "Clem" Melvin Clements, 75, of Casa Grande,
Ariz., died at home of cancer Feb. 23, 2003.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. March 16, at the First Baptist Church in Winterset.

Virgil was born Nov. 1, 1927, in Des Moines to Roy A. Johnson and Leah M. Brown. Raised by his grandparents, Frank and Carrie(Stanley)Clements, Virgil graduated from Winterset High School in 1945 and spent two years in the Army. He married Daisy Lenocker in 1949 and Stella A. Reedy in 1986. Virgil was a truck driver for Super-Valu in Des Moines and a lifetime member of Good Sam and Escapee Inc.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Dennis.

He is survived by three daughters, Diana Partlow of Menlo, Darcy Livingston of Winterset and Deborah Stover of Altoona; two stepsons, Randy Reedy of Sugerland, Texas, and Patrick Reedy of Rock Island, Ill.; three stepdaughters, Terry Sawyer of N.C., Diane Anderson of Fla., and Jackie Rowan of Moline, Ill.; three brothers, Milo Miles of Denver, Colo., David Johnson of Des Moines, and Phillip Miles of Des Moines; five sisters, Joan Morris of Winterset, Carolyn Kirk of Rio, Ill., Kathryn Johnson of Greenfield, Sondra Shuff of Indianola, and Dianne Breckenridge of Kearney, Mo.; nine grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
