Marian Mark, Creston

Marian Aileen Mark, 90, died June 21, 2003, at the Greater Community Hospital in Creston.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 24, at the Earlham United Methodist Church with Pastor Jerry White officiating. Burial was at Earlham Cemetery.

Marian Mark was born March 23, 1913, to Zenis and Minnie Wynkoop of Hamil, S. D. At the age of 6, she and her family moved to Madison County. She was valedictorian of the 1931 graduating class at DeSoto Consolidated School. Following her college education, she became a country school teacher at Madison No. 8 School. On Aug. 30, 1937, she married John Paul Mark in Princeton, Mo. after farming for several years, they moved to Earlham. Marian had been a legal secretary for the Claude Peer Law Firm in Earlham. She and her husband had resided in Creston since Oct. 2, 2002.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Avory Wynkoop and Kenneth Wynkoop.

She is survived by her husband, Paul, of Creston; two sons, Larry Mark of Creston and Norman Mark of Fargo, N. D.; a sister, Roberta Hindman of Indianola; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements wre handled by Kuhn Funeral Homes of Dexter, Earlham and Redfield.
