Funeral services for Dorothy Helen Callison, 77, were held Fri., Feb. 5 at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Epperson officiating. She died February 1, 1993, at her rural Winterset home. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
Mrs. Callison was born in Madison County on February 2, 1916, to Frank and Katie (Snapp) Percy. She married Roy Callison on March 27, 1938, in Winterset. A homemaker, she lived in the county all her life and was a member of Ord's Women's Council, the Farm Bureau, the Winterset Square Dance Club, and the Methodist Church's Susanna Circle. She was a volunteer worker at Bethesda Care Center for which she received the Volunteer of the Year Award in 1992 from the Iowa Health Care Association. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, and two brothers.
Surviving relatives include one son, Edward Roy Callison of Winterset; one daughter, Connie Kay Bailey of Mount Ayr; a brother, Glenn Percy of Hemet, Calif.; a sister, Fern Doyle of Casa Grande, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Julie Miller, Dan Callison, Lynn Utsler, Donna Callison, Alan Utsler, and Stacy Callison; and four great-grandchildren, Jennifer Miller, Blaine Callison, Travis Miller, and Nathan Utsler.
Memorials may be made to the Miller-Lillard Scholarship Fund.
