Funeral services for Carroll C. Bennett, 87, were held Mon., Nov. 23 at United Methodist Church in Earlham with the Rev. Harold W. Koughn officiating. Mr. Bennett died of pneumonia November 19, 1992, at Bethesda Care Center in Winterset. Burial was at Earlham Cemetery.

He was born July 27, 1905, to Clyde and Olive Marie (Compton) Bennett in Dallas County. He married Doris Holderbaum June 24, 1936, and farmed in Dallas and Madison Counties before retiring and moving to Earlham in 1982. He was a member of Madison County Farm Bureau and the Earlham United Methodist Church.

Preceding him in death were a sister and an infant granddaughter.

Surviving relatives include his wife; a daughter, Lilah Howell of Mason City; two sons, Marvin Bennett and wife Pat, and Norman Bennett and wife Linda, all of Dexter; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
