Death of Mrs. George Moore

Mrs. George Moore who has been an invalid for a for a number of years died Monday Aug.13, 1923 at the age of 72 years at her home near Worthington. Mrs. Moore had a stroke abut 10 years ago and has been on the decline since then being confined to her bed most of the time. She had another stroke last week from which she did not recover.

Nancy Jane has been a resident of Madison County since coming here in 1856 with her parents, Mr and Mrs. Edmund Peed who settled in Douglas township. Mr.and Mrs. Moore only had one daughter, Katie M. Reinert, who died in Nebraska in 1899 who left two sons making their home with the Moores in Iowa Mrs.Moore is survived by her husband and grandsons

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Worthington Church with burial in the Winterset Cemetery. Rev. Thomas of the Worthington Church conducted the service.

MORTUARY - NANCY JANE MOORE

Nancy Jane Moore, daughter of Edmond and Eliza Peed, was born in Lawrence county, Indiana, April 3, 1852 and departed this life August 13, 1923, aged 71 years.

When a child she moved to this county with her parents and was united in marriage to J. G. Moore, August 31, 1871. To this union was born one daughter, Katie M. Reinert, who died in Nebraska in 1898, leaving two small boys, Leo M. and George B. who were cared for and reared by the grandparents. Mrs. Moore was a member of the Church of Christ.

After coming to this county, her entire life was spent here with the exception of 12 years spent in Nebraska. Besides the husband and two grandchildren, she leaves two brothers, Frank M. Peed of this county, and Charles T. Peed of Rocky Ford, Colo. Funeral services were conducted from the old home by Rev. Thomas and burial in the Winterset cemetery.
