Edna Eckles Services Held

Funeral services were held here last Saturday for Mrs. Edna B. Eckles of Winterset, who died from accidental drowning while vacationing ad Valdosta, Georgia on October 15. She was 75 years of age.

Edna Eckles was Born August 14, 1899 at Macksburg, the daughter of Arthur D. and Nellie Harpole Benson. She was married to Don Eckles on April 27, 1925, and was preceded in death by him in 1967.

Mrs. Eckles was a longtime member of Webster United Methodist Church and upon moving to Winterset in 1972, became a member of the First United Methodist Church of Winterset.

She is survived by two sons, Dean Eckles of Dexter and Wayne Eckles of Omaha. Also surviving are six grandchildren, one great-grandson and two brothers: Denman Benson of Afton and Jack Benson of Winterset.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. last Saturday, October 19, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset, with the Rev. Paul Bousfield officiating. Burial was made in the Greenfield Cemetery.
