Services for Bob Welty, 64, Winterset, who died Feb.13 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, were held Feb. 17, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Claence Lautt and the Rev. Zona Lautt officiating. A private commital service will be held at the Winterset Cemetery at a later date.
Born in Macksburg on Aug. 10, 1923, he was the son of Nelson and Hulda Haupt Welty. He was married to Mary E. Enright on March 21, 1948 at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset.
A lifetime resident of Madison County, he was a retired auto salesman and for many years operated the south Standard Oil station here. He was a member of the Winterset CBers group.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, the Madison County Recorder, nieces, Gwen Kessler of West Liberty, Iowa and Connie Meyer of Reston, Va.; and nephews, David and Dennis Barnhart of West Branch, Iowa; and a sister, Pauline Barnhart of West Branch
He was preceded in death by his parents and by three brothers.
