December 1928

William H. Knox, son of Milton and Hannah A. Knox was born at Hannibal, Missouri, September 25, 1858, and died December 17, 1928; aged 70 years 2 months and 23 days.

He came from Missouri to Earlham, Iowa in 1880. He was married to Clara B. Lutts in February 1894. After this time he lived on a farm 3-1/2 miles northwest of Earlham.

In 1902 he with his family moved to Kansas. The last four years of his life were spent in North Wales, Pennsylvania.

While a resident in the Bear Creek neighborhood he and his family attended the Friends Church at that place.

He was of a quiet unassuming disposition. He was much attached to his family and considered no sacrifice made by him for their comfort, too great.

In each locality in which he lived he had many lasting friends and those who associated with his found him always sincere and devoted. He was an unusually kind neighbor. He was always ready to give help and sympathy where it was needed.

His faith was in God and many times he expressed his desire to be prepared. He firmly believed that our future reward is in accordance with our every day living.

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, daughter Mrs. Lorena Rudolph, son Harold H., a granddaughter Jane Rudolph, his brother Joseph H. and an aged invalid sister Lily Knox besides other relatives and a host of friends.

The body was brought from North Wales, Pa., Saturday. Funeral services Wednesday were conducted from the Earlham Methodist Church with Rev. Weed officiating. Interment was in Earlham Cemetery.
