FROM PERU -- Smith Mothern died Tuesday morning after a long illness; funeral Wednesday from the M. E. Church. The sympathy of the community is with the family in their bereavement.

FROM EAST PERU -- Death has again claimed one of our citizens, Smith Mattern. He died on the 4th [sic]; funeral sermon at the M. E. church, Peru, on the 15th, by Rev. W. C. Smith.
