A SERVICE HERE FOR MRS. MILLER

Rites For Druggist’s Wife Held Here Sunday And At Early, Iowa, Wednesday.

Mrs. Vergie Mae Miller, wife of Druggist C. J. Miller of this city, died at the Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines Friday, March 17, where she had been a patient for two weeks. Mrs. Miller had been in ill health for some time, but her condition became serious only recently. She was 51 years old.

Mrs. Miller was the daughter of Arthur L. and Eva J. Orcutt Mason and was born at Greenbush Farm at Early, Iowa, on August 4, 1892. She received her education in the Early public schools. In 1915 she was united in marriage with Walter W. Little, who was then cashier of the Early Bank. To this union one child was born, DeLos Little. In the fall of 1919 she moved with her husband and son to Fort Dodge, Iowa, where on March 13, 1921, Mr. Little died. She continued to live in Ft. Dodge until 1925 and then, due to ill health, she made her home with her parents at Early.

On October 8, 1936, she was united in marriage with Clifford J. Miller, a pharmacist in Sioux City. Due to Mrs. Miller’s health, they moved to California where her son was located, then lived in Des Moines for a few years. More than a year ago, Mr. and Mrs. Miller purchased the Lewis Drug store here.

Mrs. Miller was a member of the Methodist church, the Eastern Star lodge, Legion Auxiliary, Iris club and Pythian Sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford J. Miller of this city; her mother, Mrs. Eva Mason of Early; her son, DeLos Little of Los Angeles; her sister, Mrs. Carle Cunningham of Ida Grove; two brothers, Chester and Duane Mason of Early; also a daughter-in-law and a granddaughter of Los Angeles and a stepson, Billy Miller. Her father preceded her in death on December 25, 1938.

A short funeral service was conducted here Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Ramsey–Richards Funeral Home in the burial services were held Wednesday at Early, Iowa.
