October 16, 2024Martin Michael (Mike) Roach, 84, passed away Oct. 3 peacefully in his sleep. He grew up on a farm in Madison County, lowa.
He went to Creighton University and then joined the United States Marine Corp. After 6 years of service he got married and moved to Omaha, Neb. He loved his older sister, Peggy Tibbetts, and younger brother, Bill Roach, and the family often went to visit them in Winterset.
Mike worked for Transport International Pool for 30 years. In 1979, he was promoted to Director of Operations in Bala Cynwyd, Penn., and moved his family to Cherry Hill, NJ.
Mike was a devoted father to three children, Elena Margaret McGlone, Leslie Ann Roach and Martin John Roach III. He put his three children through Christian schools, a military school and colleges. He loved the Lord and took his family to church every Sunday.
Mike is survived by his sister, Peggy Tibbetts, daughters; Elena Margaret McGlone (Roach) Leslie Ann Roach and Stephanie McEvoy, son, Martin John Roach III, granddaughters; Nicole McGlone, Rachel McGlone and Olivia McGlone, nephews; Mark Roach, Joe Roach, and Bill Tibbetts, nieces; Terri Tibbetts and Michele Rhoads (Tibbetts).
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; Martin John Roach II and Margaret Williams Roach, brother, Bill Roach; nephew, Rick Tibbetts and son, Kevin Roach.
The memorial service will be at St. Patrick's Irish Settlement Cemetery on 0ct. 26 at 2 p.m.
