A.C. CREGAR BURIED AT PERU LAST WEEK --

Former Resident There Had Died March 4 at Indianola -- A.C. Creger, member of a pioneer family in the Peru neighborhood, died at his home in Indianola on March 4. He had been a resident of Madison county most of his life. He was 85 years of age.

Mr. Creger was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Creger, and was born at Peru on Dec. 30, 1858. He was married Nov. 22, 1906 to June Barker. They were the parents of three children, all of whom survive.

His active years were spent in Peru, where he played an active part in the affairs of the community. He was a member of the Masonic lodge at Peru for more than 50 years. He was active in church and community band work. In 1919 he and his family moved to Indianola, where he had made his home since.

He is survived by his wife; the three children, Harold Creger of Hanford, Wash.; Mrs. Dale Hutchinson of New York City, and Mrs. Willam Avery of Honolulu, Hawaii. He also leaves two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday of last week from the Orr funeral home in Indianola, in charge of the Rev. W.M. Scheurerman of the Indianola Methodist church. Burial was made at Peru.

BURIAL AT PERU FOR AMOS CREGER

Burial services were held at the Peru Cemetery last Tuesday afternoon, February 22, for Amos Creger, former Peru resident, who died Saturday, February 19 at his home in Indianola. Mr. Creger’s death followed a long illness.

Funeral services were held in the Orr Funeral Home in Indianola.

Amos Creger, son of Rev. and Mrs. John Creger, was born and raised in Old Peru, where his father was a Church of Christ minister. As a young man he worked in the Wright General store and later working for William Fenimore at a store in East Peru. At one time he and Mrs. Creger operated the Telephone Exchange in Peru.

He is survived by his wife, one son Harold, and two daughters.
